Short answer: India’s 2026 wedding season is short and intense. After Dev Uthani Ekadashi (around 20 November), most panchangs list wedding muhurats on 21, 24, 25 and 26 November and 2–6, 11 and 12 December. Then Kharmas pauses Hindu weddings until mid-January. Last year’s season (1 November–14 December 2025) was estimated by the traders’ body CAIT at 46 lakh weddings and ₹6.5 lakh crore in spending. For travel agencies, venues, photographers, salons and wedding services, the next six weeks are a race: build demand now, push hard from 9 November (right after Diwali), and follow up on WhatsApp within minutes, because wedding families compare several quotes at once.

2026 wedding dates: why the timing matters for ads

The 6-week wedding season ads plan
Week 1–2 (27 Oct – 8 Nov): warm up while Diwali costs are high
- Run low-budget short video ads: couple stories, venue walkthroughs, honeymoon highlights. Video viewers become your cheapest retargeting audience later.
- Collect enquiries with a specific, dated offer, not “contact us for packages”.
- Set up an instant WhatsApp reply and a lead sheet or CRM before the rush (see the WhatsApp follow-up playbook).
Week 3 (9 – 15 Nov): the main push
- Increase budgets on what worked during warm-up, in steps of about 20%.
- Launch Click-to-WhatsApp ads for high-intent buyers. Families want to ask questions, and the first 72 hours of messages are free.
- On Google, add searches like “honeymoon packages from Delhi”, “wedding photographer in Chandigarh” and “banquet hall near me” with location targeting.
Week 4 (16 – 20 Nov): urgency before the first muhurat
- Run “last dates available” and “book by 20 November” messaging.
- Retarget everyone who watched your videos, visited your site or messaged but didn’t book.
Weeks 5–7 (21 Nov – 12 Dec): peak wedding dates
- Travel: last-minute honeymoon packages (“leave within 7 days”), guest hotel blocks, airport transfers.
- Services: real-time availability (“free on 5 Dec”) and same-week packages.
- Ask every happy customer for a Google review straight after the event. See how to get more Google reviews, ethically.
After 12 December: don’t switch off, switch focus
- Move travel budgets to Christmas and New Year trips.
- Run lead campaigns for January–February 2027 weddings, the next season, while competitors pause.
Honeymoon and destination weddings: the travel agency opportunity
Destination weddings have grown from 18% of couples in 2022 to 26% in 2024, according to WedMeGood’s survey. More than 60% of weddings with budgets over ₹1 crore are now planned as destination events, mostly within India. About 60% of couples honeymoon in India, led by Goa and Udaipur. That gives travel agencies three products to advertise right now:
- Honeymoon packages: Goa, Udaipur, Kerala, Andamans and Manali in India, and Bali, Thailand, Maldives and Dubai abroad, with per-couple prices, inclusions and a “book by” date.
- Destination wedding planning: Udaipur, Jaipur, Goa, Rishikesh and Jim Corbett. Lead with “guest travel + stay handled for you”.
- Wedding guest travel: group hotel blocks and transfers for families travelling to weddings. Easy to sell on WhatsApp to the host family.

What wedding ads should look like in 2026
- Vertical video first. About 61% of Indian internet users watch short videos (see India’s digital market in 12 numbers). Show real couples, real venues and real results.
- Show the price. “From ₹49,999 per couple” pre-qualifies buyers and cuts time-wasting enquiries.
- Use Hindi or regional language in ads aimed at families outside metros.
- Answer the questions families actually ask: dates, guest capacity, what’s included, payment schedule.
- Let Meta’s AI find buyers, but feed it good inputs. Broad targeting works when the creative clearly says “wedding” or “honeymoon”. See what Meta’s AI still can’t fix.
Follow-up wins wedding bookings
Wedding families compare several vendors in parallel and decide fast. Whoever replies first, with the right package and a clear price, usually wins. Our checklist:
- Reply within 5 minutes, automatically if needed, with one useful question (dates and guest count).
- Send a short shortlist of 2–3 options, not a 20-page brochure.
- Share social proof: one reel, two reviews.
- Offer a call or visit slot, then a UPI token amount to hold the date.
- Track every enquiry and its stage. Judge campaigns on cost per booking.
How much should you budget?
Work back from bookings, not clicks. If you want 15 honeymoon bookings, about 1 in 12 enquiries books, and an enquiry costs about ₹60, you need about 180 enquiries, or roughly ₹10,800 plus 18% GST. Then add a buffer for the higher costs around Diwali. Try your own numbers in the free ad budget planner, and see real cost-per-lead ranges in our Meta ads cost guide.

When should wedding businesses start advertising?
Start warming up audiences with video immediately, push hardest in the days after Diwali (9–20 November) before the first muhurat, and keep running availability and last-minute offers through 12 December. After that, switch to January–February weddings and holiday travel.
