How to check your WhatsApp Business API account health: quality rating and messaging limit (Episode 2)

Short answer: Your WhatsApp number’s health decides how many new people you can message each day. In Adwix Connect you check it in two places: the Number Health panel on the Home dashboard (quality rating and messaging limit, straight from Meta) and Settings → WhatsApp, which shows token status, phone status, quality, limit and payment method. Green everywhere means you are good to go.

In this guide you’ll learn

  • What “Connected” means on your dashboard
  • What each stat card on Home tells you
  • What quality rating and messaging limit mean, in simple words
  • Where to see the full Account Health check
  • How to keep your number healthy

Why does WhatsApp number health matter?

Meta watches how people react to your messages. If customers read and reply, your number stays healthy. If many people block or report you, Meta lowers your quality and can reduce how many people you are allowed to message.

In simple words: A healthy number = you can message more new people every day. An unhealthy number = Meta slows you down.

So before building anything, it is worth one minute to check your number is in good shape.

Step 1: Check you are connected

On the Home screen, look at the top. Your business number sits in a green pill on the top left. On the top right you should see a Connected tag.

Connected means Adwix Connect is talking to Meta live, right now. If it ever shows anything else, messages may not go out, so fix that first.

Step 2: Read the stat cards

The cards on Home update in real time. Here is what each one tells you:

  • Messages sent and received: how busy your WhatsApp is
  • Conversations: how many chats are open
  • Approved templates: how many messages Meta has approved for you to send
  • Contacts: how many people are saved
  • Delivery rate: how many of your messages actually reached phones
  • Broadcasts and chatbot runs: how much your automation is doing

Step 3: Read the Number Health panel

This panel comes straight from Meta and shows two things:

Quality rating

A score for how customers feel about your messages. Green is high, yellow is medium, red is low. You want green.

Messaging limit

How many new people you can start a conversation with in 24 hours. Replying to people who message you first does not count towards it. As you send good messages, Meta raises this limit over time.

Tip: A yellow or red rating usually means people are blocking or reporting your messages. Slow down, message only people who opted in, and make your offers more relevant.

Step 4: Open Settings → WhatsApp for the full check

For the full picture, click Settings, then the WhatsApp tab. The Account Health rows show:

  • Token status: the secure link between Adwix Connect and Meta is working
  • Phone status: your number is active on WhatsApp
  • Quality rating: the same score as on Home
  • Messaging limit: your current daily limit for new conversations
  • Payment method: whether a payment method is set up with Meta, which is needed for paid messages like templates

All green means everything is set up correctly.

Step 5: Update your WhatsApp business profile

Scroll down on the same page to edit your business profile: email, address and description. Change it here, click save, and it updates on WhatsApp itself, so customers see the right details when they tap your business name.

How to keep your WhatsApp number healthy

  1. Only message people who agreed to hear from you.
  2. Add an opt-out line such as “Reply STOP to unsubscribe” to marketing messages.
  3. Don’t send the same offer twice in a day. Adwix Connect’s frequency guard helps with this.
  4. Send messages people expect and find useful, at sensible times.
  5. Remove numbers that never receive messages.

Since Meta now charges for many WhatsApp messages in India, a healthy number also saves money. See our guide to WhatsApp message charges in India.
