Short answer: Every WhatsApp Business API provider in India gives you the same official Meta API. What differs is the monthly platform fee, how many team members are included, the extra charge (markup) on each message, and features like chatbots, AI and CRM. For a small team on a tight budget, AiSensy’s free plan or Adwix Connect Starter at ₹999 a month are the cheapest ways in. Growing teams should compare total monthly cost, including messages, not just the plan price.

What do you pay for with a WhatsApp Business API provider?
Meta does not give most businesses a ready-made screen to use the WhatsApp Business API. A provider (Meta calls them Business Solution Providers or Tech Providers) connects your number to the API and gives you a dashboard: a shared inbox, broadcasts, chatbots and reports.
Your bill has two parts:
- The provider’s platform fee: a monthly or yearly plan.
- Meta’s message charges: paid per template message, by category (marketing, utility, authentication). Many providers add a small markup on top of Meta’s rate.
Since 1 October 2026, replies inside the 24-hour customer service window are also charged after the first 1,000 free each month per number. We explained this in WhatsApp now charges for customer replies.

Worked example: what will you really pay?
Say you are a travel agency with 3 team members. Each month you send about 4,000 marketing messages and 1,500 replies.
- Platform fee: depends on how many users each plan includes. Check whether 3 users means paying for extra seats.
- Marketing messages: 4,000 × the provider’s per-message rate. At about ₹1 each, that is roughly ₹4,000.
- Replies: the first 1,000 are free, then about 500 paid replies at the service rate.
Message charges can easily be as large as the plan fee. A difference of even 10 paise per marketing message adds ₹400 a month at this volume, and much more if you run festive broadcasts.

- Are chatbots and AI included, or paid add-ons?

Do you even need the API?
If one or two people reply to customers from one phone and you do not send broadcasts, the free WhatsApp Business app may be enough. Once you need several team members on one number, bulk messages, chatbots or ad integrations, you need the API. Our guide on WhatsApp Business app vs API explains the switch.
Frequently asked questions
Which is the cheapest WhatsApp Business API provider in India?
AiSensy has a ₹0 Free Forever plan, and Adwix Connect Starter costs ₹999 a month with no markup on Meta’s message charges. Your real cost depends on how many messages you send.
Do all providers charge the same per message?
No. Meta sets the base rate, but many providers add a markup. Compare each provider’s per-message rates with Meta’s official rate card.
Can I switch WhatsApp API providers later?
Yes. You can move your number to another provider, but plan for some setup time and re-check your templates. Ask your current provider how to export contacts and chats.
Do I get the blue verified badge with a WhatsApp API provider?

Is GST included in WhatsApp API plan prices?
Usually not. Most Indian providers list prices before GST, so add 18% when budgeting.
